At Weitzer Woodsolutions, we are rethinking ecological lightweight construction. Our approach: We take the only renewable raw material — wood — and transform it into the material of the future with digital manufacturing and hybrid designs.
Wood hybrid structures are lighter than pure aluminum or steel and reduce the weight of components by up to 20-30%. Depending on the application, less weight can reduce energy consumption during operation and reduce CO₂ emissions.
At the same time, our wood meets the highest mechanical requirements because wood hybrids combine wood with other materials and thus utilize the best properties of each material. Anyone who builds with us relies on material-conscious lightweight construction methods, wood carbon storage and efficiency.
Computer-aided simulations create precise digital twins of components and processes. This knowledge allows us to optimize manufacturing processes and use resources as efficiently as possible. The result is a new type of component design: lightweight, high-performance, cost-optimized and resource-saving — in short: different.
With our hybrid wood components, we bring ideas to the road, by rail and into the air. Wood hybrids are the new alternative for AUTOMOTIVE/TRUCK, RAIL and CROSS INDUSTRY/DEFENCE. They are lightweight, sturdy and meet the highest requirements: In rail transport, our components withstand extreme loads, are suitable for every climate zone and meet the relevant fire protection standards.
With our projects in the rail, automotive and energy industries, we prove that our components can be tested in accordance with standards, do not splinter and can even be used in a crash-relevant manner.
The combination of low weight and high mechanical load capacity ensures greater efficiency, lower emissions and reduced energy consumption in the area of application.
